All updates are showing on my website

I started my google blog back in 2008 and I find it difficult to keep it updated as I regularly update all my work through my website TVT Messed up Mesh (TVT Mum)

Following are a few link suggestions to help you understand how serious this health problem is around the UK and Worldwide. The polypropylene surgical synthetic mesh tape used in the TVT Retropubic, TVT-Secur, TVT-O and TOT medical devices is the source of the problem and it is causing devastating health problems to many thousands of people. When things go wrong with our surgery it is extremely difficult to find an experienced surgeon in the UK to deal with mesh tape related complications.

TVT Mum Information Pack

Hi everyone,

If you are suffering complications and continued health problems from the polypropylene synthetic mesh used in the medical devices ie TransVaginal Tension Free Tape (TVT) and many more devices we are here to give private and confidential help support. I have put together a TVT Mum Information Pack which is available free. Please visit the website for more information:-

Or type in Google search TVT Mum and the website will appear.

At this present time we do our own extensive research on this area as I was told from a Medical Professional and on good authority “the medical profession is actually very alert to surgical complications and sadly, investment in research into the area is not regarded as a priority by medical research funding bodies, which seriously hampers our ability to get a true handle on the situation”.

Update on my health issues

Hi Everyone,

Since discovering I have mesh erosion through the midline urethra back in July 2008 I try and cope the best I can. I need to say this to everyone, when I had the surgery back in October 2005 I was on the understanding the TVT Sling was working fine, however, when I discovered the mesh erosion in July 2008 I found out from my urologist this tape started to erode from day one! yep day one! I discovered the mesh eroding by accident. I always say to people who approach me for advice or information on the TVT have regular check ups with your GP (an internal) as there are no signs or symptoms on the mesh eroding.

I thought it was normal to have water infections and discharge and given prescribed medications to deal with it, when all along it is the mesh eroding, this stuff is a foreign object fighting to get out of your body.

If you have had this surgery and thinking mine is working fine (like I did) my advice is have a check up (every 6 months or when you feel necessary, especially when you think something is not right) from your GP (an internal) to make sure this does not happen to you.

I am along with many other people currently doing extensive research on the TVT Medical Device and there are facts not being told to patients.

I found an article recently and it say's .... Abstract, TVT is currently used in around 30,000 operations each year for stress incontinence in the UK. My comment... Frightening!

Stop Surgical Meshes in Humans

Please be very careful in your decision to have TVT Sling Surgery. Do your research before this stuff is implanted in you. This is what happened to me.

It has destroyed my life! due to being on Warfarin (anti-coagulation)and other health issues arisen from my surgery I cannot go ahead with any major surgery to have the mesh erosion removed from the midline urethra. After having my surgery back in 2005 I went down with a pulmonary embolus the next day with further health issues 2 months later, I am diagnosed with diabetes type 11 and then had a severe attack of slurred speach, severe muscle weakness and eventually after many tests for the next couple of years diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis.

Before I had this Mesh implanted to supposedly cure my stress incontinance I had a career a full life, I lived a healthy lifestyle, the only issue I had was stress incontinance which I was told could be corrected using the Tension Free Vaginal Tape Sling by Gynecare. My Gyny at the time of my consulation used these words to me and I quote...It is a simple operation, an overnight stay, you will be a new woman! very different to what actually happened to me.

No complications were pointed out to me before surgery. There are many complications including mesh erosion, vascular injury causing death and many more. Here I am today housebound, I can no longer pursue my career and have no option but to take each day and live in the now as the Urologist and Gynaecologist the experts in this field of surgery can not tell me what the long term effects of the mesh eroding into me are.

Major Surgery for me is nil to correct the damage done to my body.

May our Saviour Jesus watch over us and see to it justice will be done and get this mesh and product off the market.

The medical world should be saving lifes not destroying us like they are currently doing in many other areas too regarding patient health. The authorities who give rights to people to market these products are far too lax in dishing out approvals for devices without proper clinical trials and success rates.

We will win!

Love and Loads of Light to you and all of us

Campaign for Disabled People

Recently became disabled and thank goodness I can use the PC my life saver besides family and friends. I still find it very difficult to walk and to go out anywhere and feel comfortable.

I have faced many obstacles since becoming disabled in 2005, it certainly has showed me how important our health is to us once you face this situation, something I literally took for granted and to be honest I did not give it a second thought whilst I was healthy and go about my everyday life until my health got the better of me and now face possible long term disability.

I find it a struggle to go out anywhere, some of the problems I face are...

1. Not being able to go out shopping in a wheelchair the aisles are just too small, personally I would love to see an all in one department store adaptable for disabled people, ie wider aisles, lower shelves, accessible changing rooms, I could go on.
2. Public Transport, the buses have no ramps at the bus stops, no access ramp to get on the bus, I would like to see a disabled public transport accessible for disabled people only. The same goes for trains, aeroplanes, do they really think we dont like going out or something!
3. There should be more education on the disabled within our schools and more literature in doctors practises, libraries and within our community, we should be supporting the disabled not hide them

Being disabled has taught me to say to myself - I do not care what others think, I am not going to be stopped from going out, I want to get out and about like an able bodied person, we are human you know. Come on you Big Investors and The Government lets band together and get this sorted out, it is the 21st century after all with high technology surely there is money better spent on facilities for the disabled rather than spending and squandering tax payers money on for example the millennium Dome - was it really 600 MILLION POUNDS and used ONCE. Come on get your brain in gear, you might end up disabled and then what, it will be too late because no one wants to help. I faced being healthy and the next minute disabled, it could happen to you, we are not second rate citizens and we deserve better treatment than this.

I have alot more to say on this subject, but cant type for the moment as I have become tired, you see one of my disabilities is Myasthenia Gravis, severe muscle weakness and extreme tiredness, my other disabilities are through negligence, other peoples mistakes. Dont let it happen to YOU, if you can make a difference for the disabled Please put you vote in and help us to succeed to have a better quality of life.

I need to rest now, after I have had my rest I will return and finish off my say on this
important and serious subject.

One tired Lorraine - its only 2.50pm need to sleep again.
